Boy, 16, Still Missing After Leaving MoCo Facility Without Permission

Montgomery County police located one of the two teens who walked away from the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents.

Updated (June 14, 7:56 a.m.): Police reported Wednesday night that Caleb Christian Taylor was located but Malakai Amir Rice was still missing.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County police detectives are asking the public's help in locating two teens who walked away from the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents in Rockville, without permission, according to a blog post.

Police are looking for Caleb Christian Taylor and Malakai Amir Rice, who both 16.

Tayor was described in the release as a white male, standing 5-foot-3 and weighing 108 pounds, with brown, curly hair and blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing black hoodie, blue shirt, and black shorts.

Police described Rice as a Black male, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 159 pounds, with black hair, worn in an afro, and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the location of the two teens is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24-hour line) or the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400. Callers may remain anonymous.
