Police Seeking Dashcam Video Of Road Rage Shooting In Rockville

Police said the shooting happened shortly before 8 p.m. Friday on northbound Interstate 270 in the area of Shady Grove Road.​

ROCKVILLE, MD — Maryland State Police are asking for the public's help investigating an apparent road rage shooting in Rockville.

According to police, the shooting happened shortly before 8 p.m. Friday on northbound Interstate 270 in the area of Shady Grove Road. Authorities said a white Dodge Durango was struck multiple times by gunfire.

Authorities said the shooting stemmed from road rage. The driver of the Durango was uninjured.

According to police, the gunfire came from a dark-colored sedan with Maryland license plates. Police believe it was occupied by two Hispanic males between the ages of 20 and 25.

To aid in the investigation, authorities are requesting anyone who may have been in the area and has dashcam footage from 7:20 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. to contact state police at 410-538-1887. Callers can remain anonymous.
