WHAT: Congressman Jamie Raskin will join his 8th District constituents as a new survey is released showing what they really think about proposals for fixing the broken political system—in what is designed to be a new kind of civil town hall.

The meeting is part of a national Citizen Panel Initiative using a new online survey tool that offers participants arguments for and against various policy issues before Congress. This “policymaking simulation” enables citizens to make their own recommendation on how they want their member of Congress to vote.

The University of Maryland survey results, to be revealed on Saturday, relate to hot topic political reform issues including how to deal with money in politics, how district boundaries are drawn and more.

At the forum, Congressman Raskin and local residents will learn the results of the survey—which participants will have taken in advance—and discuss the underlying issues.
