Resident Escapes 2-Alarm Fire At Rockville Townhouse
BREAKING NEWS: Rollins Avenue is currently blocked between Congressional Lane and E. Jefferson Street for fire department activity.
(Updated at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday): ROCKVILLE, MD — A resident escaped a blaze that broke out at a townhouse in Rockville late Tuesday morning, officials said.
Officials reported the two-alarm fire at a two-story townhouse at 279 Rollins Ave. just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.
One occupant was home at the time and was able to escape, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said. The resident was taken to the hospital with minor burns that are non-life threatening.

Officials believe the fire started in the kitchen.
