Restaurant Fire Causes $300K Of Damage, Affects Nearby Businesses

A fire that broke out at The Chicken Basket in Rockville caused about $300k of damage.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A kitchen fire at a fried chicken restaurant Monday night caused more than $300,000 of damage and forced several neighboring businesses to temporarily shutter their doors, fire officials said.

At 10 p.m., firefighters responded to the 4000 block of Norbeck Rd. and located afire in The Chicken Basket's vent and ducts. The cause of the fire was accidental, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer. No injuries have been reported.
