Rockville Bicyclist Dies After Crash With Lexus
Montgomery County Police say the man rode his bike against a pedestrian signal, striking a Gaithersburg woman's car.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville bicyclist died Sunday night from injuries he suffered after he crashed into a car while crossing against a light, Montgomery County Police say.
About 7 p.m. Saturday, Montgomery County and Rockville City officers, in addition to Fire and Rescue personnel, responded to the westbound lanes of East Gude Drive at Southlawn Lane for a collision involving a bicycle and a passenger vehicle.
The bicyclist, identified as Samuel Vigil, 37, of the 700 block of Lenmore Avenue in Rockville, was southbound near the crosswalk, across the westbound lanes of East Gude Drive. A 2004 Lexus RX330, was westbound on East Gude Drive when Vigil’s bike struck the Lexus.

Investigators say Vigil was facing a red signal and was crossing against the pedestrian indicator. He was taken to Suburban Hospital with life-threatening injuries; he died about 6:50 p.m. Sunday, police say.
The driver of the Lexus is identified as Monica Min, 23, of Gaithersburg. Min was taken to Shady Grove Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
