Rockville Crash That Killed 2 Dogs, Injured Woman, 17, Investigated

Police are investigating a crash that killed two dogs and sent a 17-year-old woman to the hospital with life-threatening injuries on Monday.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 17-year-old woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and two dogs were killed after they were struck by a car traveling southbound on Muncaster Mill Road in Rockville on Monday afternoon, according to a Montgomery County Police release.

Police, fire and rescue personnel, and members of Montgomery County Animal Services responded around 4:21 p.m., for the report of traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the 6300 block of Muncaster Mill Road, according to the release.

Investigators from MCDP's Crash Reconstruction Unit determined that, for some unknown reason, a Red Toyota Corolla heading southbound on Muncaster Mill Road struck the woman and her two dogs, as they were crossing the street. The driver of the Toyota remained on the scene following the collision.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries and the two dogs died at the scene, according to police.
