Rockville Eatery Named a Best Brunch Restaurant in U.S.

OpenTable.com has included Tower Oaks Lodge as one of the country's top 100 brunch restaurants.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Looking for a good spot to chow down on Eggs Benedict or Maryland Day Boat Scallops? Or maybe you’re looking for just the right spot for a Mother’s Day meal.

You're in luck – a Rockville eatery has been named one of the best 100 spots in the country for brunch by OpenTable.com.

Tower Oaks Lodge, which is located at 2 Preserve Parkway just beyond the Beltway and adjacent to a 21-acre nature preserve, has the look and feel of the log and stone "Great Camps" of the Adirondack Mountains built around the turn of the century.

“The heart of The Lodge is The Great Room, a 200 year-old two-story timber barn from Vermont, anchored at each end by massive stone fireplaces. The Saranac Room has broad skylights, a stone fireplace, and a small bar with a birch bark canoe topped by an intriguing Native American weathervane. The Tack Room is a more formal hunt country space with the Chesapeake Bay-inspired Boathouse Bar offering comfortable booths bordering an expansive bar,” the restaurant website says.

Tower Oaks Lodge was one of nine restaurants in Maryland recognized for their brunches by OpenTable.com. Other nearby selections are Founding Farmers in Potomac and Clyde’s of Chevy Chase.

OpenTable.com's 100 Best Brunch Restaurants in America list is based on more than 5 million diner reviews on the site at more than 20,000 restaurants nationwide.

Considering a whopping 21 states didn't have any restaurants on the list, that's pretty impressive. D.C., Maryland and Virginia dominated the list, with a combined total of 17 of the 100 restaurants.

Offerings at Tower Oaks Lodge include a children’s menu, and half-price raw bar specials daily. The Sunday brunch menu includes $4 mimosas and Bloody Marys.
