Rockville Man Charged With Raping Woman He Met On JDate
A 50-year-old Rockville man suspected of raping a woman he met on a Jewish dating site is in police custody.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Authorities have arrested a Rockville man they say sexually assaulted a woman he met on a Jewish date site.
William Gelfeld, 50, was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree assault, court records reveal. The attack, Montgomery County police say, took place in Rockville on Jan. 25.
Authorities say the victim and Gelfeld met on the online dating service "JDate" and arranged to meet at his home for dinner.

The victim, whose identity and age have not been released, told police that she was sexually assaulted at his place in Rockville. Police said that during the assault, Gelfeld wrapped his hand around her throat — making it hard for her to breathe.
Gelfeld was arrested four days later. He is currently being held without bond.
