Rockville Man Fatally Injured When Motorcycle, Jeep Collide: Police

A 40-year-old Rockville​ man was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into the back of an SUV on Sunday night.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Hector Luis Betancourt-Rivera, 40, of Rockville died from injuries he received Sunday night, when the black and red, 2016 Suzuki GSX R 600L motorcycle he was operating collided with an SUV on Veirs Mill Road in Rockville.

Around 7:57, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded for the report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a gray, 2019 Jeep Limited in the 13000 block of Veirs Mill Road between Aspen Hill and Arbutus Avenue, according to Montgomery County Police.

Investigators determined that the driver of the Jeep was making a U-Turn from westbound Veirs Mill Road to the eastbound lanes, when Betancourt-Rivera's motorcycle crashed into the back of the jeep, according police.

Betancourt-Rivera was declared dead on the scene and the driver of the jeep remained on the scene after the collision.
