Rockville Man Identified As Victim In Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County Police identified 43-year-old Peter Kostas Axarlis of Rockville as the driver killed Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle collision in the Kemp Mill area.

Officers responded around 12:32 p.m., to the area of Arcola Avenue at University Boulevard W. for the report of a crash involving a single vehicle.

Investigators from MCPD's Collision Reconstruction Unit determined that Axarlis was heading southbound on Arcola Avenue when, for unknown reasons, the silver 2020 GMC Sierra he was driving left the roadway and struck multiple trees. Axarlis was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.
