Rockville Man Struck, Killed Crossing Snouffer Road In Gaithersburg

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 47-year-old Rockville man was killed in a collision involving a pedestrian Saturday night on Snouffer Road in Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units, as well as officers from the county police department, responded around 8:58 p.m., for the report of fatal collision involving a pedestrian in the 8200 block of Snouffer School Road, just before Bonanza Way.

Arriving on the scene, public safety personnel found Carlos Tapia-Sosa of Rockville lying in the roadway, according to police. Tapia-Sosa was pronounced dead and the driver of the striking vehicle, a silver 2012 Hyundai, remained on the scene.

Tapia-Sosa was crossing Snouffer School Road from south to north, when he was struck by the Elantra in the second wesbound lane, according to investigators.
