Rockville Pair Head South with $50K Lottery Prize
A pair of Rockville men who won $50K shared some of their good fortune with family, and plan a trip to Florida.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A pair of Rockville men who called themselves the “Father & Son” scratch-off team are headed south to the Sunshine State with their $50,000 Maryland Lottery prize.
The relatives are taking their prize from the $1,000,000 Platinum Play game to Miami, Florida, to share with family members. The “Father” is a regular Lottery player who enjoys playing Powerball, Mega Millions and Cash for Life. The 22-year-old “Son” plays scratch-offs every now and then, according to a news release from the Maryland Lottery.
The inspiration to buy the $20 game hit after work while they were heading home from their jobs in Montgomery County. They stopped at Gourmet Beer & Wine, 11510 E. Rockville Pike in Rockville, to try their luck.

After their big win, the two men have remained secretive about their Lottery luck. “Father & Son” have only shared the good news with family members.
“We bought the ticket last week, took a couple of days off and then headed to Lottery headquarters to claim our winnings,” said the “Son.” After sharing some of the prize with family members, “Father & Son” plan to put some of the winnings aside for future fun times in the sun together.
