Police Identify Pedestrian Struck By Car on Rockville Pike

Authorities release the name of the man who was critically injured when a car hit him on Rockville Pike.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County officials have identified the pedestrian who was hit by a car Thursday morning in Rockville as Dingguo Guo, 61. Guo, a Rockville resident, was crossing westbound on Fredrick Avenue at Hungerford Drive at the time of the crash, according to police. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have also identified the driver who hit Guo as 56-year-old Valerie Jeanne Beaudoin of Montgomery Village. Beaudoin was driving southbound on Hungerford Drive when her 2003 Lexus sedan hit Guo, according to officials. The driver was not injured and remained at the scene of the accident.

Authorities said they got a call about the pedestrian-involved collision at approximately 6:15 a.m. The Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to MD-355 at Mannakee Street and is conducting an investigation.
