Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest Canceled Due To Extreme Weather

The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest scheduled on Saturday, July 20 has been canceled.

Editor's note: This event has been canceled due to extreme summer weather. Organizers hope to reschedule the event in the fall.

The Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest, presented by the Rockville Rotary Club Foundation and the City of Rockville, celebrates its 34th year in 2019.

The 8-kilometer road race and 1-mile family fun run will be held Saturday, July 20.

Registration is open at http://rockvilletwilighter.org/registration. For this week and race-day registration, the fee is $45. The 1-mile fun run is $10 per individual, $30 per family.

The pre-race festival will begin in downtown Rockville at 6:30 p.m. with food vendors, free kids activities, community booths and merchants. The fun run begins at 7:45 p.m.; the 8K starts at 8:15 p.m.

North Washington Street from MD 28 (Jefferson Street) to Middle Lane and Courthouse Square will be closed from noon Saturday, July 20, until about 1 a.m. Sunday, July 21. At 7:30 p.m., North Washington Street and Beall Avenue will close for the family fun run. At 7:45 p.m., all intersections along the racecourse will be closed to traffic for the race.
