Rockville, Silver Spring Drivers Hurt In Crash

A Rockville driver was critically injured in a weekend crash in Kensington, while a Silver Spring driver was also hurt, police say.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville driver was critically injured in a weekend crash in Kensington, while a Silver Spring driver was also hurt, Montgomery County Police say. A Volvo S80 and a Chevrolet Camaro collided about 5:25 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Denfeld Avenue.

Investigators say the Camaro, driven by Miguel Angel Ramirez, 23, of the 2400 block of Lyttonsville Road in Silver Spring, was traveling north on Connecticut Avenue approaching Denfeld Avenue. At the same time, the Volvo S80, driven by Carlos Enrique Hernandez, 64, of Heathfield Court in Rockville, was turning left onto Denfeld Avenue from Connecticut Avenue.

The vehicles collided in the intersection, and both drivers were injured. Hernandez was taken to Suburban Hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition, police say. Ramirez was also taken to Suburban Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
