Rockville VisArts Gallery To Celebrate 30th Anniversary
The art gallery is celebrating its 30th anniversary later in October, but are adding new exhibitions in the mean time.

ROCKVILLE, MD — The VisArts in Rockville is kicking off its 30th anniversary season this year, with a launch party from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22. Not only are they celebrating their 30th year, but they're releasing some brand new exhibitions.
At the anniversary launch party, attendees will get a chance to meet studio artists, try making a ceramic pot, visit galleries and take part in a scavenger hunt.
The new exhibitions are starting on Friday, Oct. 13, with free opening receptions lasting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. They're in separate galleries and all will last through Nov. 19:

Visitors will be able to see "The Mad Duchess and Her Daughters," photography by Stephanie Benassi. It will be on display at the Gibbs Gallery.
We'll also be able to check out an interactive video projection by Hsin-Hsi Chen at the Kaplan Gallery, according to a Facebook post from the City of Rockville.

At the Common Ground Gallery will be displayed a series of photographs by Alyscia Cunningham entitled "Feminine Transitions."
ArtWorks for Freedom, a group that fights human trafficking with art, will display "Children in the Fields," a collection of essays and visual art at the Concourse Gallery.
VisArts is just a few blocks from the Rockville Metro station at 155 Gibbs St. Exhibitions are always free and open to the public, but they suggest a donation of $5 if you can.
