Salsa Lessons, Concerts, Outdoor Art Lab: Summer Fun In Rockville

ROCKVILLE, MD — Rockville Town Square is poised to be a destination for fun, family-friendly events all summer long, thanks to a robust calendar of activities. From a summer concert series to salsa lessons, there's plenty of activities in Rockville to enjoy.

Here is a list of activities that are just brimming with excitement:

Fitness on The Square — (June 4 - Sept. 24)
Everyone can enjoy Fitness on The Square — regardless of skill level. The weekly event, hosted by Gold's Gym, offers a variety of group classes, including yoga, Zumba, and Body Combat.

Oh, and did I mention that these classes are free? That's right. You get to break a sweat without paying a dime. It's a win-win, if you ask me.

Fitness on The Square takes place on Tuesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, classes will be moved inside Gold's Gym, which is located at 26 Maryland Ave.

CREATE! on The Square — (June 19 – Aug. 28)

Looking for a fun, creative outlet? Check out CREATE! on The Square — a hands-on, outdoor art lab that is sure to bring out your artistic side.

You can shape clay at the pottery wheel, try your hand at fluid painting, and more. There will also be instructors and art assistants on site to help get your creative juices flowing.

The free event is hosted by VisArts, a non-profit organization focused on bringing people together through art. Swing by Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

No registration is required.

Salsa on The Square — (June 6 - Sept. 26)

It's Salsa time!

Victor Maysonet, who runs All Out Danza in Rockville, will lead a step-by-step salsa lesson every Thursday evening, beginning on June 6. Each dance lesson is followed by an open social dancing party.

Salsa on The Square takes place on Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m.

Friday Night Live Summer Concert Series — (June 7 - Sept. 27)
Is there anything better than jamming out to live music on a Friday summer night? Probably not.

During the summer series, you can enjoy popular bands from a wide range of musical genres every Friday. In addition to live music, there will be special prize drawings and giveaways for the first 100 children.
