MCPS Employees Must Get COVID-19 Vaccine, School Board Says
The Board of Education announced Thursday that employees will be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine, ending the option of weekly testing.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — All Montgomery County Public Schools employees are going to be required to get the vaccine for COVID-19, the Board of Education decided Thursday. They will be required to prove they've gotten their first dose by Sept. 30 and show verification of full vaccination by Oct. 29., Bethesda Beat reported.
Previously, the board had said that employees could provide proof of vaccination or submit to weekly testing. This new move will have one exception for people who are medically unable to get the vaccine and have a doctor's note, according to Bethesda Beat.
"The Board passed this resolution as an added layer of protection, particularly for younger students who are not eligible to be vaccinated," Montgomery County Public Schools said in a letter after the announcement. "A series of vaccination clinics hosted by MCPS, DHHS, and other healthcare providers will be conducted across the county."
