ROCKVILLE, MD — A man died when his speeding motorcycle clipped a guardrail along I-270 and crashed, Maryland State Police say. Joseph Jones III, 26, of the 9300 block of Corporate Boulevard in Rockville, died in the crash about 11 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities say the fatal wreck happened on I-270 northbound north of MD Route 28, in the transition lane from main lanes to local lanes.

He then made what state police called an abrupt and unsafe lane change, crossing all four lanes in an attempt to take the transition lane to the local lanes.
