ROCKVILLE, MD — A dog has been reunited with its owners after it was found in a car stolen from a woman in Rockville. Police say that a woman was at a Dunkin Donuts on Siesta Key Way on Oct. 11 when two men approached her and demanded the keys to her Mercedes.

When she refused, a third man tackled her and knocked them out of her hand, and all three men got in the car and drove away, according to police. Police say they found the car in possession of a Washington, D.C. man in the 6000 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park the next day. There was a handgun in the car along with a dog, who police say was stolen from a separate Mercedes in Takoma Park after its owner left it in the car while they went into a restaurant for a few minutes.

Randolph R. Richardson, 31, has been charged with the armed carjacking, theft between $25,000 to $100,000, illegal use of firearm in the commission of a violent crime, unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
