Summer School has started

Summer school has started, and once again there are no blondes in my class. It's a huge class for ESOL 1 beginners: there were 29 on my roster the first day. So many boys, mostly from Central and South America. Only three girls. When a cute American girl walked into my classroom to collect my updated attendance, they started wolf-whistling and calling out suggestively to her. I had to explain that their behavior was inappropriate in my classroom. ESOL 1 is really where the acculturation process begins...
