Suspect Caught On Surveillance Video In Dawson Market Armed Robbery

Police released a surveillance video of the man with a knife they say robbed the Dawson Marked in Rockville on Monday morning.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County Police released a surveillance video on Tuesday of a suspect wanted in the armed robbery of a Rockville store on Monday morning.

Around 11:09 a.m., officers from both MCDP and the Rockville City Police responded to the Dawson’s Market located at 225 North Washington St. in Rockville for the report of an armed robbery, according to police.

Investigators determined that a man entered the store about 30 minutes before the armed robbery took place. At first, he tried to take food from the market without paying, but he was stopped by an employee who told him to leave.

Initially, the man complied to the employee's request and left the store, but he returned a short time later with a knife, according to police. Approaching the employee, the man took items from the store and left.

Police described the suspect as a 27-to-37-year-old Black man, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing about 225-250 pounds. He was airing an orange baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, red T-shirt, black pants and white and gray sneakers. He also wore a blue surgical mask and red and black gloves.
