Maryland State Police say an officer had a close call in Silver Spring and they need tips on the hit-and-run called in to Rockville Barrack.

A Maryland State Police officer about to arrest a drunk driver in Silver Spring was not injured when his car was sideswiped by another vehicle that didn’t stop, authorities say.
The close call – captured on dash-cam -- has authorities asking the public to contact the Rockville Barrack if they have any leads on the hit-and-run driver.

Flowers-Jackson had stopped a DUI suspect about 3 p.m. Saturday on eastbound
Interstate 495 at Route 650 (New Hampshire Avenue) in Silver Spring.
He was about to make the arrest a drunk driver when a vehicle traveling in the slow lane slammed into his patrol car on the shoulder. The driver of that vehicle fled the scene.
