ROCKVILLE, MD — A UPS employee is facing charges after police said she stole items out of packages and sold them at local pawn shops.
Adela Beatriz Orellana, 26, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft, Montgomery County police said in a news release.
According to police, authorities first learned about the thefts in November when they were contacted by a victim who said he sent five gold coins through the UPS store at 11160 Viers Mills Rd. When the package reached its destination, it contained only two coins, police said.
