ROCKVILLE, MD — An upscale barbershop is coming to Rockville's Montrose Crossing early this year.

The Texas-based company — called Boardroom Salon for Men — is set to open its doors on Rockville Pike in the coming months, and will offer grooming and salon services for men.

Boardroom CEO and co-founder Bruce Shultz says the salon will be more than a local, run-of-the-mill barbershop.

"At Boardroom, service is more than just surface-deep, we aim to become a welcomed retreat for men in the Rockville community," Shultz said.

Designed to look like a sophisticated, old-fashion establishment, Boardroom will boast chessboards, pool tables, televisions, dark wood paneling, and plush leather chairs.

"Our salons bring the professionalism of an old-time barbershop, with outstanding client service in a sophisticated atmosphere where men can relax, unwind, and confidently enjoy the highest quality haircut, shave, or spa service in town," Shultz added.

Patrons can kick back with a complementary beverage and choose from a number of services, including Boardroom's signature Benchmark Haircut ($60), the Express Haircut ($45), traditional hot lather shave ($60), and hand and foot grooming ($40-$55).

Clients can also take advantage of Boardroom's three-, six-, and 12-month membership programs and receive unlimited, discounted haircuts at any of its salons.

Boardroom — which was founded in Southlake, Texas, in 2004 — has more than 40 locations across five states. Rockville's location is the only one in the D.C. metro area.

However, the company, says it plans to open more salons in the Mid-Atlantic region. No dates or locations have been disclosed.
