Urban Butcher, Oyster Bar Coming Soon; Thanksgiving's Spicy Makeover: Foodie News

One meat:

Republic—the Black Restaurant Group's seventh restaurant, is coming soon to 6939 Laurel Ave., Takoma Park. It will have an oyster-shucking station at the bar, vintage decor and live music, along with an outdoor patio seating 30 to 40 people. Three sides:

While the Black Restaurant Group gets ready to open its seventh restaurant, it's preparing to close its first—Addie's—at 11120 Rockville Pike (in White Flint). The restaurant opened in 1995, and is closing due to lease issues, but the restaurant group hopes to reopen Addie's in another location, Bethesda Magazine reported.

Another restaurant with an early December target opening date is Urban Butcher, at 8226 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, Silver Spring Patch reported.

Looking to add a kick to your Thanksgiving feast this year? If your family is of the dining-out-on-Thanksgiving-Day sort, take note ofRosa Mexicano's (5225 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Chevy Chase, DC) special Thanksgiving menu, served on Thanksgiving Day from noon to 9 p.m.

In addition to its regular menu, the restaurant will serve complimentary hot apple cider made with Mexican canela, as well as these entrees never before served at a Rosa Mexicano restaurant: 

• Pavo en Mole con Relleno de Huitlacoche (Roasted Turkey with Huitlacoche Stuffing): Chile-roasted turkey with mole xico, huitlacoche-sweet plantain stuffing, roasted fall vegetables and Mexican chorizo potatoes ($24).
• Budín Pegajoso de Calabaza (Sticky Pumpkin Cake): Sticky pumpkin cake soaked in pumpkin-piloncillo sauce and topped with pumpkin mole swirl ice cream and cranberry salsa ($9).
