Victim ID'ed In Fatal Rockville Crash Involving MoCo Deputies

Authorities said a 25-year-old Adelphi woman died Saturday when her car was struck by a speeding driver in Rockville.

ROCKVILLE, MD — The Maryland attorney general's office on Tuesday identified two Montgomery County deputies involved in an attempted traffic stop that ended in a crash that claimed the life of an Adelphi woman.

According to Attorney General Anthony Brown, Montgomery County deputies Connor Clifford and Paul Nelson were patrolling near Rockville Pike and Flanders Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday when a Dodge sedan drove by them at a high rate of speed.

After activating their emergency equipment, prosecutors said the deputies came upon a two-car crash near the intersection of Rockville Pike and Twinbrook Parkway while attempting to locate the Dodge. According to investigators, the driver of the Dodge had collided with a Honda sedan as its driver turned southbound on Rockville Pike.
