Volunteer, shop and do good!
Did you know that Habitat for Humanity operates two ReStores in Montgomery County? ReStores sell new and used donated goods and are open 7 days a week from 9am-6pm Monday through Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to build affordable housing in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. We are able to help everyday working class families realize their dream of homeownership by selling the homes at cost and with a 30 year, no interest mortgage. Our ReStores help to provide us with funding to support this mission. We also divert tons of materials from the landfill every year and support our workers by paying a livable wage and providing benefits.

ReStore volunteers are so very important to our mission because they help to support store operations and help us to convert more of our shoppers’ dollars to affordable housing. We desperately need volunteers to take shifts at the store and “take charge” of departments.
Whether you are good at customer service, upcycling, repair, organizing or decorating, we need you! Come have fun, learn a skill, help customers find what they need or create (and fix) masterpieces. We are also certified for SSL hours and many other programs. We really need retirees and folks who have time during the day to volunteer. We also have an after school shift for teens (3pm – 6 pm). You must be 16 years old to volunteer alone, 14-16 years must be with a parent.
