Walk, run or roll to support victims of domestic violence
Montgomery County Family Justice Center Foundation announces event

The MCFJC Foundation is asking participants of all ages to walk, run or roll 12k (7.456 miles) from October 22-24, 2021, to commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
“We are suggesting 12K to mark 12 years of our support to victims of domestic violence and their children,” said Resa Levy, the foundation’s executive director. “The purpose of this event is to raise awareness in the community about domestic violence. Additionally, we are concerned about the catastrophic effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on victims of domestic abuse and their children. The 12k will help raise funds to support them.”
The first 250 people registered by September 15 will receive a hat with the event logo in advance of race weekend. Organizers give the option of walking, running, or rolling for 12k (7.456 miles). Participation supports victims of domestic violence by providing pro-bono legal aid, emergency transportation, specialized counseling services, financial literacy training, emergency care kits, diapers, and formula.
