The National Capital Area Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will host the Montgomery County Light The Night Walk on Oct. 10 at the Rockville Town Square, according to a news release.
The charity is asking local residents to join the fight against blood cancers, the leading cause of cancer death of Americans under the age of 20, by participating in the evening. Money raised will support the chapter’s mission to find a cure for blood cancers and to improve the lives of patients and their families.
Teams will walk at twilight carrying illuminated lanterns honoring patients, survivors, and loved ones lost. Champions For Cures, those walkers who raised $100 or more, will enjoy live music, food and beverages, and family activities before and after the event.
