Weather Decision For Montgomery County Public Schools On Feb. 11

There has been a change in schedule on Monday for Montgomery County Public Schools.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Montgomery County will open two hours late on Monday, Feb. 11. Administrative offices will open on time, Montgomery County Public Schools officials reported.

Morning prekindergarten, morning half-day Head Start, all other morning half-day programs and field trips are canceled, officials said. Child care programs may begin on time, according to the announcement.

Programs that begin at 10:50 a.m. or earlier are canceled, officials said.

Bus service will be provided on a two-hour delay, according to school officials, who cited emergency weather conditions in some portions of the county in making the decision to postpone the opening of schools Monday.

Montgomery County is under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m. Monday after a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain fell overnight. Drivers should anticipate slippery road conditions.
