  • Peerless Rockville’s workshop ā€œGenealogical Research Through Photosā€ will highlight free on-line genealogical tools and trial versions of photo software for analyzing historic photos at 10 a.m.
  • St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Barnesville hosts their 141st Chicken Dinner with a day of fun activities for the whole family. The jousting tournament is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m.
  • The Hipocrites, a Chicago-based repertory company, present The Pirates of Penzance rotating with The Mikado at Olney Theatre. Today you may choose The Mikado at 1 p.m. or The Pirates of Penzance at 7:45 p.m.
  • The Washington Spirit take on the New Jersey Sky Blue FC at the Maryland Soccerplex at 7 p.m.
  • The Musical Theatre Institute presents Disney’s Lion King Jr. at Magruder High School in Rockville at 2 and 7 p.m.
  • The Rockville Civic Ballet presents Cinderella at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Rockville at 7:30 p.m.
  • The Washington D.C. One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF) returns to Round House Theatre in Bethesda with a twist: the third annual event will celebrate the works of all women and women-identified playwrights and directors. The marathon evening of one-minute plays by some of Washington D.C.’s established and emerging playwrights and directors will play three performances only, tonight at 8 p.m.
  • The BlackRock Center for the Arts free summer concert series wraps up tonight with the U.S. Navy Band: The Cruisers at 7 p.m.
  • Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club present the Fabulous Thunderbirds Featuring Kim Wilson at 8 p.m.
  • Olney Theatre presents the award-winning musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at 2 and 8 p.m.
  • The final night of the Bethesda Outdoor Movies series features Creed at 9 p.m. in the Woodmont Triangle.

Sunday, July 31:

  • Join a naturalist every Sunday to learn about the animals who live in and around Wheaton Regional Park at 1:30 p.m.
  • Olney Theatre presents the final performance of the award-winning musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice at 2 p.m.
