What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2021 Around Rockville

See what's staying open over the Labor Day weekend and what will be closed in Rockville.

ROCKVILLE, MD — As you get ready to finish up working for the week and prepare for the long weekend, take a look at what will be open and closed in Rockville and Montgomery County this Labor Day. Most office buildings will be closed, but be sure to look at Montgomery Parks recommended activities for the weekend if you're looking for something to do outside.

Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 6. Here's what's going to be open and closed in Rockville and Montgomery County:

Rockville City Hall: Closed

Montgomery County office buildings: closed

Montgomery County courts: closed

Montgomery County libraries: closed

Alcohol Beverage Services stores: all stores open from noon to 5 p.m.

Ride On and Flash Bus Service: operating on a regular Sunday schedule on Monday. See the schedule here.
Parking at public garages, lots and curbside meters: Free Monday

Metrorail and Metrobus: The metrorail and bus will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday.

MARC Train and Commuter Bus: There will be no MARC train or commuter bus service, except for #201 which will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Trash and recycling: The city of Rockville will not pick up recycling and trash on Monday. Collection will be pushed one day all week.

Shady Grove Transfer Station: Closed on Monday.

Recreation and Parks: All recreation and senior centers will be closed. The following facilities will be closed:

    • Open to pedestrians and bicyclists (closed to cars), from Friday, Sept. 3, at 9 a.m., to Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7 a.m. 
      • Sligo Creek Parkway  
        • Old Carroll Avenue to Piney Branch Road (1.1 miles)    
        • Forest Glen Road to University Boulevard West (1.5 miles)    
      • Beach Drive from Connecticut Avenue to Knowles Avenue (2.7 miles)
    • Open to pedestrians and bicyclists (closed to cars), from Saturday, Sept. 4, at 7 a.m., to Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7 a.m.
      • Little Falls Parkway from River Road to Arlington Road (1 mile)
