What's Open, Closed in Rockville on New Year's Day 2014?

One New Year's perk for residents: free parking at Rockville meters on Jan. 1.

City offices are closed and some services delayed for the New Year’s holiday.

City Hall and all City facilities will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day. Many facilities and programs will operate on a limited schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Parking fees at City of Rockville meters will be suspended on New Year’s Day.

Recycling and refuse will not be collected on Jan. 1. Recycling and refuse normally collected on Thursdays will be collected on Friday, Jan. 2.

City facilities will operate on the following schedule:

• Croydon Creek Nature Center will be open on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
• The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office is closed until Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m.
• Lincoln Park Community Center, Thomas Farm Community Center and Twinbrook Community Recreation Center will be open Friday, Jan. 2, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
• The Rockville Senior Center will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31.
• The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 6 a.m.-4 p.m.
