Here's your guide to what's open and closed on Thanksgiving in Rockville and Montgomery County.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Thanksgiving is a time for being grateful for what you have, gathering with loved ones, and — of course — stuffing your face with delicious food.
Until then, it's wise to check what's open and closed in the area. Knowing what services will be available on "Turkey Day" will save you time and a massive headache, especially if you need to make a last-minute grocery run.
Government offices, libraries, schools, museums, recreation centers, and businesses all have their own opening and closing hours during this holiday week. Here's how it shakes out for Montgomery County resident.

Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22:

County Offices – Closed.
Libraries – Closed.
Department of Liquor Control retail stores – Closed.
Recreation – All programs and facilities are closed.
Montgomery Parks – For special programs, events and operating schedule, including Brookside Gardens, ice rinks and tennis centers, visit www.MontgomeryParks.org.
Ride On – Sunday schedule.
Metrorail – Information available at www.wmata.com.
Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com.
TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – Closed.
TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – Closed.
County-provided refuse/recycling pickup – County-provided trash and recycling collection is cancelled November 22 and will slide one day, with the last collection Saturday, November 24.
The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – Closed.
Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – Free.
State offices and courts – Closed.
Rockville City Hall will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23. However, some facilities will be on a limited schedule, according to the city's website. Parking will also be free at meters throughout the city.
- Thursday, Nov. 22 (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday, Nov. 23: City Hall, the Senior Center, Glenview Mansion and the Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be closed. Fitzgerald theater tickets are always available at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre. Recycling and trash normally collected on Thursdays will be collected Friday, Nov. 23. - Facilities closed Nov. 22 and open for the following hours Nov. 23: Croydon Creek Nature Center (10 a.m.-2 p.m.); Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers (10 a.m.-6 p.m.). Rockville Swim and Fitness Center north pool and fitness room (6 a.m.-9 p.m.). South pool closed. Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for more information.
