Woman Buys Over $10K Worth Of Items With Stolen Credit Cards: PD

Police are looking for a woman they say used stolen credit cards to buy more than $10K worth of items at stores across Montgomery County.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Authorities are looking for a woman they say used stolen credit cards to buy more than $10,000 worth of merchandise at stores in Germantown and Rockville.

Montgomery County Police released surveillance photos Tuesday and are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. They believe the unidentified women is behind two cases of credit card theft.

The first incident happened on Feb. 19 in the 6700 block of Needwood Rd. in Derwood. Police say the woman stole two credit cards from a victim's vehicle, which was parked at Lake Needwood — a Montgomery County parks and recreation facility.

The suspect then used the stolen credit cards to purchase $5,200 of merchandise at two Germantown stores, officials said.

Two more credit cards were stolen in Darnestown on March 7. According to police, the suspect swiped them from another victim's vehicle. At the time, the vehicle was parked along the Seneca Ridge Trail in the 16800 block of Riffle Ford Rd.

The suspect then bought more than $5,650 worth of items at a store in Rockville, police said.

Anyone with information about this suspect is urged to call police at 240-773-6070 or call the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of this suspect. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
