Woman Raped at Knifepoint, Rockville Neighbor Convicted

A Rockville man has been convicted of breaking into his neighbor's home through a window and raping the 63-year-old victim at knifepoint.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Rockville man has been convicted on multiple charges of rape and sex offenses for breaking into a neighbor's home while the woman slept and raping her at knifepoint.

Montgomery County Police arrested Myles Joshua Bowersox, 25, of the 13100 block of Midway Avenue in Rockville, on Nov. 16, 2015, on charges of home invasion, rape and sex offenses.

Investigators say Bowersox broke into a house in the 5600 block of Dowgate Court in Rockville. The 63-year-old victim was asleep in her bedroom when Bowersox entered the bedroom through an unlocked window. Police say Bowersox pulled the victim’s shirt over her head so she could not see him and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, he held a knife to the victim’s stomach and told her he would come back and kill her if she reported the assault.

Prosecutors called the attack a woman’s worst nightmare, reports WTOP. Bowersox watched the victim from his second-floor apartment, then attacked late at night after an argument with his girlfriend, said Ramon Korionoff with the Montgomery County States Attorney’s Office.

Fingerprints taken from the scene and entered into a national database for analysis were found to match Bowersox, whose profile was in the system from a previous charge for sexual assault, according to court documents.
