Woman Sexually Assaulted Near Rockville Businesses: Police

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County police are looking for an attacker who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman Thursday morning in the professional corridor of Shady Grove Road in Rockville.

The incident occurred around 6:10 a.m. in the area of Shady Grove Road and Key West Avenue, according to a press statement. Police said the woman was walking on a sidewalk on Shady Grove Road between Key West Avenue and Blackwell Road when a man approached her from behind, pushed her to a grassy area, and started to sexually assault her.

A passerby, hearing the victim scream for help, came to her aid. The police said the suspect fled from the scene.

Officials released a vague description of the suspect: a man with a thin build wearing dark clothes. An investigation by the Special Victims Investigations Division is underway.
