GLOBAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT TEACHES HOW TO BE A BETTER LEADER BY PUTTING OTHERS FIRST

(GLEN BURNIE, MD, June 2 2016) — Ironically, Shi Chen had to return to Maryland after living four years in China to be able to attend the Global Leadership Summit (GLS). While working in Beijing with her husband, she had heard about it through colleagues and her church, but couldn’t get two days off from work to attend.
They moved to Catonsville in July 2015. One month later, they were sitting in the auditorium at Abundant Life Church in Glen Burnie taking part in the GLS, listening to CEOs, best-selling authors and world-renowned pastors sharing visionary ideas on how to be a better leader.
“I loved the diversity of the faculty and their perspective on leadership,” Chen said. “It’s about putting people first and serving people well: How do I lead well, in my sphere of influence? Love on people.”
Chen and her husband already have made plans to attend the 2016 GLS, and Abundant Life Church will once again be a host site as 13 innovative leaders deliver a unique blend of vision, inspiration and practical skills. The world-class leadership event reaches 305,000 leaders from 125 countries and will be broadcast live via satellite from Willow Creek Association in Illinois on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 11 and 12. Some of the leaders presenting this year include Melinda Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Alan Mulally, President and CEO of the Ford Motor Company from 2006 to 2014; Bishop T. D. Jakes, Founder and Senior Pastor of The Potter’s House and best-selling author Patrick Lencioni.
Since returning from China, Chen has been building her leadership and success coaching business, Shi Chen Coaching, which helps purpose-driven creatives pursue their entrepreneurial goals with the intent of making a big impact on the world. The lessons she learned from the thought leaders that make up the faculty of the GLS have been a valuable, yet cost-effective investment. “The content is both inspiring and practical.
