• Severna Park Native Selected By Packers In NFL Draft: ‘Surreal Feeling’ (patch.com) — Severna Park football fans have a new hometown hero as Trey Smack, a former Severna Park High lacrosse standout and Anne Arundel County native, has been drafted by the Green Bay Packers as their only kicker pick. After a record-setting career at the University of Florida, Smack says he’s still feeling starstruck and grateful as he heads to Green Bay for rookie minicamp.    

• Retrievers Rack Up America East All-Conference Honors (umbcretrievers.com) — A UMBC men’s lacrosse standout from Severna Park, sophomore captain Coffman, earned America East First Team honors as a short-stick defensive midfielder after a strong two-way season. He’s one of three Retrievers on the first team and part of a group that also collected all-academic recognition heading into the conference semifinals against UAlbany.
