• Residents: It's not the first time sewage has spilled into creek (wbaltv.com) — A broken pipe along Ritchie Highway spilled more than 16,000 gallons of sewage near Cypress Creek in Severna Park, sending about 2,000 gallons into the water and alarming nearby families. County crews have finished cleanup and are upgrading aging pipes through September, while urging residents to flush only the “three P’s” to help prevent future overflows.    

• Maryland teen earns Girl Scout Gold Award and Boy Scout Eagle, makes history (wmar2news.com) — A Severna Park 17-year-old has achieved the rare feat of earning both the Girl Scout Gold Award and the Boy Scout Eagle rank, reflecting years of community service. Her projects include a free “Caring Cupboard” and landscaping outside Severn Library that now even supports Anne Arundel Community College coursework, with a public recognition ceremony set for June 14 in Pasadena.
