Join us at the Rising Sun Inn for the American Battlefield Trust traveling exhibit - The American Revolution Experience, beginning June 1st. See www.risingsuninn.org for dates and times. The Friends will also be hosting several activities during this two-week event, including speakers, drop-ins, and a tea. Speaker and drop-in events are FREE, but ticketing (and donation) is strongly encouraged for speaker events.

The Redcoats on the West River, June 5th @ 6pm. On March 31, 1781, the British Redcoats sailed up the West River and burned Stephen Steward's shipyard and home to the ground. This skirmish marks Anne Arundel County's only direct land engagement of the Revolutionary War. Join Archaeologist Katie Gill who will share this archaeological Discovery!

BE REVOLUTIONARY! June 5th, 3 - 8pm. Join Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, during this drop-in event, to learn more about the BE REVOLUTIONARY campaign across the county. 

250 Voices, June 6th, 1 - 5pm. "250 Voices" is a community storytelling and living history project celebrating the United States' 250th anniversary, by highlighting everyday citizens' stories to bridge the city's and county's past and present. "What does the Pursuit of Happiness Mean to You?" Come share your story during this drop-in event.

Get Started with DAR & SAR, June 7th, 2 - 5 pm. Curious about what it takes to join the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) or the Sons of the American Revolution(SAR)? Have some ancestors you want to check up on? Get started with Robert Rice of the John Paul Jones Chapter/MD Society SAR and Jan Baker of the Anne Arrundell County Historical Society for this special drop-in event.

Tavern Talk and Tea at the Rising Sun Inn, June 10th, 11:30am. Enjoy an Elevenses Tea (tea and sweets) and learn about Tea and the American Revolution with Adjunct Professor, UMD, Diane Duray. If Walls Could Talk, June 11th, 3pm. Join Architectural Historian Sherri Marsh Johns to learn about colonial architecture right here in Anne Arundel County.

Buttons, Buckles, and Bayonets, June 12th, 6pm. Join Curator Sara Rivers Cofield of the Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum to learn about what people really wore during the American Revolution.

Revolutionary Spirits, June 12th, 7:30pm. Join Rod Cofield, Executive Director of the Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum to learn about the historical Colonial Chesapeake Taverns.
