On the night of the last football game played on Roberts Field in Severna Park, the boys Varsity showed up and flashed signs of what could have been. A 4-4 Varsity squad showed up to play against the 2-6 Northeast Eagles.
On a steady diet of what has proved to work, the Falcons fed #24 Kieran Jenkins the ball. Jenkins broke the SPHS record for most TD's scored rushing, not only breaking that record early in the 1st quarter but tallying a 2nd and 3rd rushing TD. The record stands at 13.
Solid running offense helped spread out the Eagles defense where #12 Kitzmiller hooked up with #34 Kyle Williamson for a TD. Falcons went into the half up 27-0.
3rd quarter action didn't stop there, more points were on the board and finally with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter, a high snap on the punt attempt soared over the Northeast punters head, the NE punter recovered and attempted the kick which was blocked by #60 Elee Johns and forced the ball out of the end zone for a safety. 43-0 was the final.
Impressive play by all on the Falcons this year, 2013 will be remembered as a great year. Where team came first and player after player stepped up and gave his best.
Falcons 5-4 on season, end their year at Old Mill 9-0 next week on the road. This is your last chance to see the 2013 Falcons and come out and root them on to victory. I can't promise a 72 degree night like last night, but I can guarantee, you'll have a great time cheering on this team! Game time 6:30 at Old Mill
