Game Stop Robbers Tracked From Air, Arrested
Suspects from Washington, Hyattsville and Temple Hills are charged with robbing the Severna Park store.

SEVERNA PARK, MD — Three men who reportedly robbed a Game Stop store in Severna Park were chased by police in the ground and in the air into Prince George’s County, where they arrested.
Anne Arundel County Police say the robbery of Xbox and PlayStation units from the retailer was reported about 6 p.m.
The County Police Air Unit tracked the suspect vehicle on Route 50, driving with its lights out. The getaway vehicle drove into Prince George’s County and the occupants jumped out of the car and fled.

The Air Unit directed officers to the suspects; one was caught shortly after they ran from the vehicle. Police say they arrested the other two suspects after they ran into a house.
The vehicle and more than $3,000 in stolen property were recovered.

All three suspects were charged with theft over $1,000 and related charges.
The suspects are identified as Devonte Jermaine Brooks, 20, of Washington, D.C.; Sammie David Smith, 21, of Hyattsville; and Samuel Cordell Whitmire, 20, of Temple Hills.
