Peace Corps To Host Meeting in SP

The Peace Corps will hold an informational meeting at the Severna Park Library on Tuesday night.

Have you ever considered joining the Peace Corps? Would you like some more information on the organization? You’re in luck—they are coming to Severna Park.

The Peace Corps will host an informational meeting at the Severna Park Library from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday night, according to a press release.

The meeting is for members of the public who are interested in learning about volunteer opportunities worldwide. During the meeting, returned Peace Corps volunteer Janet Schuhl will give an overview of Peace Corps volunteer work, explain the requirements to serve, and answer questions.

Peace Corps volunteers enjoy many benefits, which include medical and dental care, a living allowance, 24 paid vacation days per year, student loan deferment, and the experience of a lifetime, according to the release. Upon completion of service, volunteers receive non-competitive eligibility status for most government jobs.
