Severna Park Patch Reader Poll Suggests Residents Prefer District 1, Eastern Shore.

Monday, at the opening legislative session, will be the last chance to speak on redistricting.

More than half of the respondents to Severna Park Patch's reader poll on redistricting said they thought the community had more in common with the Eastern Shore, District 1, than Prince George's County, District 4. 

According to 54 responses or 96 percent, answered that Severna Park shared more common interests with the Eastern Shore, District 1.

Readers posted comments and answered the poll on the rappearing on Severna Park Patch Oct. 5 on the proposed plan by the Governor’s Redistricting Advisory Committee that places residents in parts of Severna Park and the Broadneck peninsula in different congressional districts.

Del. Cathy Vitale (R), Severna Park, sent an to Patch on Tuesday urging citizens to attend the opening of the General Assembly's legislative session at 11 a.m., Oct. 17, when the scheduling of both Anne Arundel County delegation hearings as well as committee hearings on the bill will most likely occur.
