Snyder's Pub Under New Ownership

Newly updated bathrooms, city sewer, paved parking and other modernizations underway at the bar located on Earleigh Heights Road in Severna Park.

Kay and Troy Bryant, Mark Tinordi, and Jeff Kogok are the news owners of at 58 W. Earleigh Heights Road. Purchased from longtime owner Bob Snyder, who has retired to the eastern shore, the restaurant and bar, open for decades, is undergoing a slow transformation while staying open until the official grand re-opening in late April or early May.

The outdated septic system was recently replaced with city sewer but the bigger news for these new pub owners are the two newly remodeled bathrooms. Recently completed by Mahon Plumbing, owned by Greg Mahon of Severna Park, the men's and ladies restrooms are now sparkling with new fixtures, vanities, toilets, lighting,  new plumbing.

Coupled with fresh paint and new flooring, the new management is confident these upgrades will draw in a new clientele. Tinordi said he especially hopes to bring in customers from Severna Park.

The spacious kitchen now has a new dishwasher and there are four flat screen televisions lining the walls surrounding the bar and pool table area. A touch of nostalgia remains with a vintage refrigerated beer case dating back to the original owners, still in use at the end of the bar. Serving up the drinks is "Turtle" who started on Jan. 1, the day of the purchase.

The bar is stocked with domestic bottled and tap beers and the selection will be expanded.

"We are still coming up with what we want to do with it (Snyder's)," said Tinordi, a former ice hockey defense man for the Washington Capitals up until 2000. 'We'll decide on a direction in the near future."  They will also be branding it with a new name before opening day.

"Hopefully we want the Severna Park crowd to come in," said Tinordi, who lives in Millersville and his daughter Natalie, a junior at who will also play a role in getting the place up and running.

In the meantime, the parking lot is buzzing with activity, with work trucks parked out front and the left parking lot groomed for re-paving.

They are reviewing the menu options and planning to keep some of the regular specials, such as a Thursday night steak special. 

The current hours are 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Mon- Fri and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sat and Sun. Stop-in and check out what may become another neighborhood bar for Severna Park.
