1 Dead In Silver Spring Shooting (UPDATES)

Police responded to the 1600 block of Belvedere Blvd. for a shooting just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. Updated information.

(Updated 11:30 a.m. Thursday) SILVER SPRING, MD — A fatal shooting occurred late Wednesday night inside of a residence in the Forest Glen area of Silver Spring, police said.

At about 9:50 p.m., police received a call from a person inside the residence who reported that a suspect entered the home and shot someone inside the home, police said. The caller told police that the suspect fled from the home after the shooting.

Officers responded to the home in the 1600 block of Belvedere Blvd. and located an adult male victim on the upper level of the home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

This homicide investigation is continuing and additional information will be released once it's confirmed, police said.
