2 Waldorf Men Arrested For Silver Spring Carjacking, Assault: Police

Two Waldorf men face multiple charges in connection with an assault at the Regal Majestic movie theater and a carjacking in Silver Spring.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County Police arrested two Waldorf men in connection with an attempted carjacking that took place Wednesday evening in Silver Spring, according to a release.

Officers responded around 5:30 p.m., to the 900 block of Ellsworth Drive for the report of a strong-arm robbery. Through their investigation, detectives determined that a juvenile boy was sitting in the lobby of the Regal Majestic movie theater, when one of the suspects walked up, punched him in the face, and took his personal property, according to police. The second suspect joined the first suspect and began punching the victim as well, before the two suspects left the theater together.

Believing the suspects had boarded a Ride-On Flash bus that was traveling northbound on Colesville Road, officers tracking the bus on Colesville Road and University, according to the release. There they identified two people who matched the description of the suspects. When they tried to stop the suspects, they ran off. A chase ensued and one of the suspects dropped a Sarsilmaz K2 .45 caliber handgun, according to police. The officers caught and arrested 21-year-old Marc Anthony Dacenay Jr.

The second suspect, 20-year-old Marquie Antonio Dacenay, tried to steal a Blue Nissan Altima that was traveling on Colesville Road, but he was unable to open the passenger door, according to police. He then tried to get into a black van that was behind the Altima. However, the van was being driven by an on-duty MCDP detective, who took Marquie Dacenay into custody.

While searching Marquie Dacenay, officers found a 9mm “ghost gun” in his possession, according to the release.

Both suspects were taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Police charged Marc Dacenay Jr. with possession of a handgun and Marquie Dacenay was charged with attempted carjacking, attempted theft under $25,000, second degree assault, and possession of a handgun, according to the release.
